History of Electronic Keyboard:

           The first electric keyboard was invented by ELISHA GRAY and he's also considered to be as modern music synthesizer.

        It was named as MUSICAL TELEGRAPH.It was created in the year 1876

In 1959 Yamaha invented their first electronic keyboard called D-1 ELECTONE.This revolutionary electronic organ used transistors alone to produce sound, instead of the vacuum-tube technology that was available at the time.

In 1980 Casio released their first Electronic Keyboard CASIOTONE 201.As a compact and attractively priced unit that could play sounds from various instruments.

Digital piano:

          Digital Piano is the replacement of acoustic piano.Digital pianos use their synthesized Emulation or recorded sample of the traditional acoustic piano.This is mounted in a stand or it can be also In the model of upright or grand piano.Comaparing to acoustic piano digital piano cost is less.We don't wanna tune this piano because this is already tuned to match the real instrument.The most common sounds of digital pianos are Pipe organ, Electric Piano,Harpsi chord,etc...

Synthesizer:

    The first Synthesizer was invented by the American engineers Harry Olson and Herbert Belar in the year 1955.Synthesizer use various synthesis technology to produce various variety of sounds.It generates the audio signal and gives out the sound.We can control the frequency of the sound using the knobs given in the keyboard.

Workstation:

      Professional Electronic keyboard that combines synthesizer and arranger keyboard.This has high quality sound,editing/recording, computer connection and external memory slot for storing customized data.This is similar to DAW(DIGITAL AUDIO WORKSTATION)where we can do mixing and mastering, editing loops,etc.

Arranger keyboard:

       This is the keyboard used by an every musician.This created a major impact in this modern era.A person who wants perform as a solo band they use this arranger keyboard because this keyboard as many features.It has a built in auto accompaniment.Arranger keyboard combines the various sounds like piano, guitar,accordin,organ,strings,brass,wind instruments and so many.Even iam using Arranger keyboard.some examples of arranger keyboards are Korg Pa4x,Yamaha psr s975,and so on

Midi keyboard:

       This is the keyboard which cannot sound itself Wheres it need a DAW(DIGITAL AUDIO WORKSTATION) or A VST(VIRTUAL STUDIO TECHNOLOGY) Plugins.This is connected to midi cable to the system and with the help DAW and VST plugin the sound is produced.Some midi Keyboard have a drum map for playing drums.Some of best companies of Midi keyboards are ALESIS, NECTAR,AKAI etc

Keytar:

     Keytar is a small Synthesizer in the similar position of guitar worn a strap over the neck.This act as a Midi controller or we can connect this to our mobile while we are playing in live.This most probably used in a life concert.
